Finally finished packing, except for the laser printer, Sony speakers and my laptop. Been talking about this issue for the past week and just a few more days to breathe Singapore's humid air. Heaps of friends that went back to Singapore fell ill, it's been speculated that Brisbane air is fresher and not so "heavy" to breathe. I reckon part of it is true.
Went to Queen Street Mall area to shop for the last time. Went to the usual haunts of Footlocker and Harvey Norman. Realised the Nike shoes that I've got at Harbout Town was at least 50% cheaper, makes my post purchase dissonance lesser. Air Max Plus was $240 and I got for $120, and Air Max Roulo was $120 and I got for $50. Saved $180! The Air Rift that I inted to sell back home was $140 and I got for $70. So grand total savings was $250! Always go Harbour Town to get Nike.
Had dinner at a friend's place and it was just fantastic. They've been great and was there for me when Eliss was away. Good friends are hard to come by.
Anyway, graduation ceremony will be on 24/3 at Ritz Carlton from 8pm to 10pm. It happened to be a day before my birthday so it's really special... imagine getting your degree and blowing your birthday candles on the same night. Maybe can do it at the Greenhouse Cafe or something... the pool area was really nice too, expecially under the moonlight where the reflection is casted over the water and the gentle breeze caressing your face from the Marina Bay. Splendid evening, I reckon. Family and some friends will be there to lend some support, what can possibly go wrong?
Come to think of it, studying in Australia had been quite a life changing experience. Those who had or are currently studying overseas will know what I mean. Who are real friends? And who can you really trust when you needed help? You'll be surprised who is the first one to abandon you or to sabo you.
On the good note, you'll get the Australia experience. It's so different from the materialistic Singapore, where everyone just wants the latest in everything. There are many things to see and feel, when you have a car. If not, there is the trusty Queensland Railway, which has like intervals of an hour each on weekends.
Whatever has happened, it will remain a good memory. Not everyone has a chance to go overseas to study, I really thank God to fufill his promises to carry me through. I remembered few years ago I went to Dr AR Benard's seminar in CHC. He encouraged all of us to increase our value by upgrading ourselves. I felt God spoke to me to study overseas. I was shocked! I've never thought about that. I asked Him what about the finances... He said He will settle that, I just need to concentrate on my studies.
