Went for chalet organised by Sing Yee, sort of like a gathering for fellow ex iDAers. I got to know her when I was back from summer vacation during my first sem in uni. Not many people turn up, but at least I got to meet those wonderful people after a year plus of MIA. It's really good to just sit there and catch up on one another's life. Charlene disappeared the whole night with the mysterious "Brown Brown", until late when we were about to leave. So much for zong se qing you (priority for love over friendship).
All of them are tertiary students, except myself. We just went to the beach and sat on the breakwater to just gaze at the sea. We talked about school life, ex perm staff from iDA and what the future holds. Pretty normal stuff that young people are concerned of in this dynamic world, expecially in this kind of time. I heard that a lot of students reading hospitality and tourism were not able to have their industrial attachments, due to obvious reasons. Quite sad, eh?
It was a windless and starless night.
Ryce had a final year showcase at Millenia Walk, orgarnised by her school, TP. Students from the design school were all out to interest prospective employers with their beautiful interior designs, clothes and products. I think it's really good for them, because they get to let the world know that their hard work is not wasted, especially when they see the number of namecards in their little fish bowls. I'm pretty impressed by some of their works, which exudes creativity with practicality. In this saturated market of products that based a lot on asthetics, it really requires that hint on innovativeness to stand out from the rest, like Starck's.
The whole event inspired me again to persue my interest in the design area. Perhaps I may try Visual Comm...sounds like heaps of fun. I think taking that will be more fun than an MBA. What do you think?
What is your dream?
