Celebrated my sis 14th birthday at Miramar Hotel yesterday. The buffet is not too bad. Bought her a Liverpool polo shirt, too bad it's too big. Have to go for an exchange.

Sawadee! Came back from a conference at Bangkok on last Sunday. It was quite a fun trip, although it's my third time there.
Finally got a chance to fly with SQ, the last time was when I went to Australia to study. The service wise, I'll say that they are prompt and helpful. Looks wise, I wouldn't rate them as beauty queens. But I'll say they looked good in their Pierre Balmain's sarong kebaya. Was so tired because I slept late the night before, so didn't fiddle with Krisworld. When I woke up and realise that they are showing Home Run, the plane was about to land. Sigh.
We were picked up by the local tour guide, called Tui. A dark complexioned middle age bloke with a heavy Thai accent. He was quite entertaining, especially the way he laughed at his own people.
Traffic was surprisingly clear, as they were enjoying their new year holiday. We reached our hotel in no time. It's the first time I see that Bangkok has no traffic jam.
I was assigned a room with B, and we headed up for a nap before going for the buffet lunch at the hotel's coffee house.
Started our sales conference with the Malaysian team. Met a few familiar faces from JB as I was attached there for a few days training when I first started out. We played games and think of strategies to grow our business for 2004. The meeting lasted for half a day.
We were shuttled to Royal Dragon Restaurant, the world's largest restaurant. The wait staff serve in roller skates. It's pretty touristy and bus loads of tourists were served the same set dinner of bbq seafood and other traditional dishes.
Patpong was a no-no for me this time for cheap bargains, all the tugging and unpoliteness, that will be the last time for me. So the tour guide brought us to another place, the Suna Lum Night Bazaar. It's much more comfortable to shop there, and quieter. The store owners won't pester you, you can just choose freely.
After all the walking, we ended the day with a traditional Thai massage rub down.
The next day was free and easy. So we spent the whole day at MBK doing retail therapy. Saw another side of the girls as they shopped like there's no tomorrow. Especially at the Triumph boutique. Wanted to colour my hair at one of the salons, but they wanted to charge me like 1500b, which is like $60. Might as well do it in JB.
So after a long day, our legs ache like mad. Can't wait for the tour bus to pick us up for dinner. We went to eat at a place similar to Rice Table in Singapore, just that the food is not free flow. There was also a cultural show going on as we pig on our food.
It's the show after dinner that is the highlight of the whole trip. A Cabaret show by a group of transverstites. It's the first time I've seen one and I think it's great! It's not only entertaining, it also make me realise that everyone can excel in their field, so let's not make any condamnation here.
