The sun casted a nice orange and blue on the cloudless sky, against the backdrop of suburban Sydney.

3 of Eliss's colleagues came for dinner, and I was only notified last minute. The char siew had been marinated for the past 48hrs, so I'm sure that will be great. It was my first attempt to cook char siew mee. And how do you make that dark brown gravy that they served with the noodles?

I made it up along the way, adding stuff like dark soy, oyster sauce and a few other ingredients.

Thank God I had some soup boiling from the bacon bones, so just had to add in some salt and chopped spring onion as a garnish before serving.

To see the smile on their face meant that the meal was good enough for them. Phew! What a cooking adventure.
