A very good morning from Falls Creek of the beautiful state of Victoria after a 5hrs drive. We set off at 3am in the morning, and took turns before arriving at the alpine playground with 450 hectares of terrain and 92 runs.

The car park was still pretty empty when we arrived. The backdrop of the snowcapped mountain was simply amazing.

All of us still looking fresh, maybe it was the fresh air. We bought our ski pass at the counter behind. I bought the one with the basic snowboarding course.

We took the chair lifts which brought to the summit of the mountain. I had never taken one before this, so it was pretty exciting for me.

The scenery up there was breathtaking. The weather was surprising warm, and I was perspiring inside.

Strapping on the snowboard for the very first time. Looking forward for my virgin attempt on snowboarding.

According to the chart, I was a Koala, a total novice. Oh well, I joined the rest of the class in anticipation that I will be able pick up the sport today.
The instructor was pretty patient with me as I was the worst in the class. I couldn't do even the most basic things and the other students seemed to pick up everything the first time round.
I learnt to make J Turns, which was to stop. Learnt to brake using the toes and the heels to cut the board into the snow. Learnt how to stand up with both feet attached to the board.
My calf hurt as I exerted a lot of pressure on them. It was really fun still!

Ok, so much for the basic course. It was time to put what I learnt into practice.

Our day pass enabled us to take the different chair lifts to the different terrain. It was pretty scary and it went really high up. It was worse when it was making a descend as it jerked a little and went down a little like a rollercoaster. The views were splendid up there.

This was the beginner terrain was it was not so steep. Way easier to brake and control.

This was the intermediate side, which I unknowingly attempted. I fell down in so many ways that I never knew I could.
I was literally tumbling downhill, while seeing those ski instructors in red doing everything in ease.

I was totally exhausted at the end of the day. Done so many things in that few hours. I learnt to snowboard, to brake, to turn and not giving up halfway because it was better to tumble down the slope than to walk up one.

I had ice formed at the bindings, which gave me a lot of problem. I had such a hard time putting and removing my boots from them my snowboard.

All of us leaving the snowboards to dry before loading back onto the X Trail. It was another 5hrs back to Melbourne, and we were tired and hungry.
We decided to have dinner somewhere along the way, or we would be able to have it at 10.30pm

I had a wonderful gourmet burger in this little restaurant called Cozy Kangaroo in Bright. It has the thickest and juiciest beef patty. Was so hungry after all the actions earlier.
This had certainly been an exciting experience for me. Although my body is aching now like nobody's business, the memory will always be in my head. And on my blog, of course!
