Havaianas Beachley Classic, Sydney
October 9-15, 2006
Manly Beach

The Havaianas Beachley Classic is the richest women’s tournament in the 30-year history of female professional surfing – it will offer US$100,000 in prize money.

Beachley is Sydney’s first stand-alone women’s surfing event in over a decade.

Today was my off day, so I thought of getting some shots of the ladies in action.

I reached there at 3pm, and everything was over for the day. Sigh. The first leg will begin at 7am tomorrow.

This was possibly the biggest Havaianas thong in the world. Really felt tempted to own a pair.

There is a Havaianas shop located at The Heeren by some gays couple of years back. I didn't even heard of the brand then.

I didn't go home empty handed, managed to capture some shots from other surfers who were there.

On the way home at 4pm, the police came and did a breathalyser test for all the drivers. Who would be drunk at this time on a Tuesday afternoon?

After this, I went for a little workout at Centennial Park. Rollerbladed one around, and covered around 3.8km. I glided pat the tarmac, while admiring the sunset within the lush greenery, against the backdrop of the skyscrapers of the CBD.

This is the life!
