Welcome to the second Danks Street Festival, with more activities, more food, more entertainment and tonnes of fun than last year.

Live music from Martini Club, Waiting for Guiness, The Donovans and Johnny G and the E Types had people of all ages up and dancing.

Just ask this groovy uncle.

I didn't know until now that Waterloo had so many art galleries, cafes and restaurants. And it's so near our place! Now we have new ideas where to go for food.

There were exhibitions held at some of Sydney’s most prestigious galleries. Or you could find yourself a bargain at the Festival Artists’ Market, where local artists could well be selling the masterpieces of the future.

Aussie kids loved to have their faces painted for some reason. Maybe they wanted to do wayang (Chinese opera) next time when they grow up.

Kids were able to create their own art at 'Arty Pants'. There was a range of art activities including a stencil art workshop offered by the Pine St Creative Centre.

They also got to contribute to a giant community art project commissioned especially for the festival by leading Sydney artist Philippa Playford.

Grab a bite from one of the stalls, like this one managed by Danks Street Depot selling vongole baked wine, aromatic herbs and tomato, served with aioli and bruschetta.

Did you know that the once caffeine intolerant Eliss loves her cuppa now? She ordered a latte black today!

The tattooed barista sure had quick hands.

Behind me is the Hillsong Church in the City. With a total attendance of over 20,000 on any given weekend, the live praise and worship albums produced here are sung in churches around the world. Hillsong's Worship Pastor Darlene Zschech and other members of the worship team have become internationally renowned for their songwriting and anointed worship leading.
