What happen when your national flag become some "gang colours" or some described as racism disguised as patriotism?

Well, the organisers of Big Day Out music festival has discouraged people from bringing the Australian flags or wearing flag bandannas for the sake of crowd safety. Why?

Last year at Cronulla, there was a group of Middle Eastern people sitting down and some flag-waving racists went up to them and said `you're not Australians'.

Come on, man! What make someone more "Aussie" than the other? This is a land of migrants, as everyone knows. Sheesh.

Like in Singapore context, is an Indian "less Singaporean" than a Malay?

According to the Public Transport Council (PTC) of Singapore, a recent bus passenger satisfaction survey showed that 1 in 5 of the respondents who took buses indicated a preference for better services at higher fares.

Really? I'm quite skeptical about this survey. I thought people are complaining escalating public transport costs.

Anyway, we will be expecting premium buses with superior level of bus service, such as a more direct and comfortable journey.

Premium bus services have to meet the following requirements:

(a) Operate only with air-conditioned buses;

(b) All passengers must have a seat; and

(c) Fares are at least 1.5 times the fare of basic public transport services.

Looks like cabbies will have to worry about their upcoming competition and one less reason to own a car.
