Are you one of the FEW that queue up to get your hands on the long awaited PS3?

Over 500 retailers around the country threw open their doors as the clock struck 12:00am, expecting the frenzy that accompanied the games console's overseas debuts. But most stores were virtually deserted, despite the 20,000 pre-orders Sony said it had received.

Even at the official launch event held at Myer's Pitt Street store, the media and security outnumbered PS3 fans until at least 11:00pm.

At midnight, only 40 arrived to collect their consoles. Desperate producers unashamedly asked the crowd to fake excitement when the cameras were rolling, while a team from 2Day FM let out bogus cheers to convince their radio listeners that a launch extravaganza was underway.

Hahahahaha! This is a joke, man!

Yes, she looks stunning, doesn't she?

It's finally in Australia, but at a more expensive price of $995, unfortunately.
The console sells for just ¥60,000 ($630) in Japan and $US599 ($740) in the US.

If you own heaps of PS2 games, the PS3 isn't fully compatible with all of them. 2308 PS2 games have been released in Australia to date, but only 1782 are compatible. And even those games might suffer from glitches during play.

Well, since I never had the opportunity to own a PS2, I may consider to get one if I go back to Singapore. I'll hook it to my Bose and enjoy Blu-ray movies with that awesome surround sound.

And JB will probably offer a better price for the games too.

Evening was spent over some over-creamed ice chocolate at a pretty cafe in Newtown. The waitress, who is a dyke was not in the best of mood. Her face was blacker than her tank top whole night through.

I reckon it must had been a rough night for her.
