Well, you can call this a welcome back dinner for Jake. He was back in Singapore to be with his family during the CNY period.
We tried Shanghainese this time round, and with a few other new friends who are gourmet themselves, it was a night of gastronomic adventure.

This is an eel dish. The fish looked like noodles and tasted like white bait. Unique indeed.

This braised duck dish was similar to what we have back home, except a little sweeter.

This rice cake dish was very unique tasting, unlike the Korean version which we are more accustomed to by now.

This braised streaky pork with (mei cai) preserved vegetables hit straight home because it tasted exactly like our traditional Hakka way of cooking.
I'm Hakka by the way, in case you are not aware.
