I'm always happy to hear that the government is giving out money, again.

This time round, eligible HDB households will get the next tranche of their Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebates next month, given to to help low and middle-income Singaporeans cope with the GST increase increase in July 2007.

I'm one of them! Yeah!

One and two-room households will get $220 worth of U-Save rebates, $200 for three-room flats, $190 (four-room), $120 (five-room) and $80 (executive flats).

Not bad, another $190 in the bank account. Keep it coming!

I bet a lot of Singaporeans will complain that all the government wants to do is to sugar coat the rate rise situation and make everyone feel a little better after the pinch.

But hey, look at what's happening here in Sydney. We have 12th interest rate increase since May 2002 and not given a cent of rebate.

Mai hiam buay pai, lar (don't keep complaining)!
