I went to visit a client today using Cabcharge cards for the very first time.
I didn't even know how to use it, and had to call Eliss as I was too embarrassed to ask the cabbie.
I drive all the time in my previous jobs, in case you are thinking why I'm such a suaku.
Anyway, when I reached my destination, I gave the card to the cabbie and it didn't work when he swiped it across his machine.
He asked me if it was a used one, and I told him impossible as I signed out the 2 cards fresh from its box.
He said ok and continue to swipe vigorously, but in vain.
Shit. So I gave him the other one, meant for my return trip.
It still failed.
I had to pay with my personal credit card in the end.
What's the point of Cabcharge cards when they don't work?
Anyway, I got another cab back to the office and had no issues!
The other cabbie must be using his machine to hold his sandwich and broke it somehow.
I realised from my other colleagues later that they never had any similar problem.
Lucky me.
EnergyAustralia brought sexy black today at the Australian Fashion Festival today.
We had a blackout today in the CBD, which affected Market Street to Circular Quay.
We were spared at George Street area. I was silently hoping we could have a few hours off work and just hang around some cafes downstairs. Those with power of course.
EnergyAustralia blamed it on a contractor digging in North Sydney.
So, one guy is all it takes to shut down half of Sydney CBD.
Feeling safe, huh?
Oh, I forgot to mention that the building across the road had smoke coming out from one floor, and a fire truck was parked along King Street with firefighters standing by.
Were we scared? Nah, we just stood by the glass window and wondering who the guy stuck on that floor was talking to on his mobile.
Wah! This is classic!
I hope Eliss's customer advocacy team will not follow Singtel not so polite way to telling their customer to back off.

I didn't even know Sydney has so much programs coming up. To think that I find all this out from the Singaporean media. Sheesh.
