Today is Anzac Day, which marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) forces during the First World War at Gallipoli, Turkey.
There were many military personnel in uniform walking in the city at night. They seemed to be very proud of wearing them.
I couldn't wait to get my SAF No.4 off whenever I have the opportunity.
Guess that's the difference between those who signed on as a regular, and those "made" to do it as a national service.
It's been more than a year since I met Hazel. She came for my birthday party last March and I'm so happy that she's happily married to David now.
I met Cat not too long ago for lunch as our offices are very near to each other. She introduced me to a nice pub that sells really yummy Thai food.
We met up for Japanese at a newly open restaurant in the city.
Hazel ordered the soft sell crab salad.
Cat insisted on the takoyaki balls.
Not enough from Belgian Beer Cafe, I ordered a pot of mussels.
David chose the tonkatsu set. The pink dressing tasted like strawberry milkshake.
Feeling kiasu that we'll not have enough food, we ordered an extra plate of okonomiyaki and sushi roll.
We passed the food around and just talked about anything under the sky.
After that, we went for dessert at a cafe along Sussex St.
I reckon my chendol ice was over priced at $5 a pop, and green jelly was still hard from being frozen.
I joined Eliss for second round as she didn't have dinner.
We went to a 24hr Korean place along Golburn St and the food was pretty good.
Rena came along as well to join in the late night supper party.
Eliss ordered the spicy fish roe soup to share.
The chili octopus was divine! I reckon this was the best one we've eaten so far.
I wonder why we didn't come to this place earlier!
