Have problem sleeping these few days...always feel some kind of stress...maybe because Eliss is not around or that I'm finally going back and there are still some unresolved issues... not sure.
Anyway, CNY was great!
Was supposed to go and view firecrackers at Chinatown but couldn't make it because of the website assignment. A lot of things to debug...all was ok until it was uploaded. Just went to view and all seems ok, except that the hyperlinks of one of the pages couldn't link at all. It was ok when I did it in the lab. Wonder how many marks will be deducted for that. I mean that page wasn't a requirement, was added in to score more marks (hopefully) and now it sort of backfire. Will talk to the lecturer once the marks is out.
Well, despite that hiccup, still managed to go to Ah P's place for the steamboat buffet...with Alvyn coming to pick me up... thanks again!
The dinner was fantastic, heaps of food and had a few drinks. We were all laughing and happily chatting, although we are not with our families back home. Guess the old saying that you'll need friends when you are out of home is really true.
We played Mario's Tennis on the N64 console till late. It was fun, an alternative of the Australian Open that has captivated a lot of us over here.
After that, we just laid back and watched Spider Man again. Most of us are like almost in the "screensaver" mode when we watched Peter Parker trying to shoot webbing from his wrist. For non comic fans, this is not what happen in the Stan Lee's comic...as Peter Parker uses capsules of webbing that is attached at the wrist and it needed constant refilling. Guess the movie makers think that it's an hassle and opted for their version.
- CNY 2003 -
Welcomed the Year of the Goat at 1.25pm when I finally woke up. Cooked a simple lunch and waited for GQ and Ah P to come. They are bringing me to Chinatown as they know I really wanted to see the firecrackers. How sweet of them, right?
As they didn't eat anything earlier, we went to the pastery and got some egg tarts. It isn't as good as Maxim's from Melbourne.
Saw a few lion dancers who are ang mos...something that isn't offered in Singapore.
We went up to the muti storey carpark to have a better view of the firecrackers, which was hoisted up on a flag pole right in front of Burlington Market.
The firecrakers was lit and went off in a series of loud "piaks*... like M-16s going off on auto mode. It was not as loud as I expected.
After that, we headed for my place and I repaid them with a sumptous dinner of stir fried veges with fish slices, steam pork in garlic and black bean sauce, deep fried prawns with dark soy sauce, stir fry yong tofu and steam rice. We reckon that was better than the renunion dinner the other night.
Come Sunday, we went to Harbour Town and shopped for the very last time before I come back to Singapore. I bought a pair of working shoes from Nike called the Air Max Roulo.
The lab is closing, so heading home now. Cooking chicken wings with jap curry later, maybe?
