All is set! Bangkok here we come! Need the break from all the hustle and bustle or worklife. Time to let my hair down and help the retail economy.

Definitely not joining the free city tour, because it's a conspiracy between the desperate vendors and the tour agency. Rather find my own gems with Eliss. Here are a few Thai basic greetings to move around.

Singapore is out of the WHO list for being a SARS infected country, lets hope it remains this way. Or the Thai trip will be such a hassle.

Spoke to someone today who has a Taiwanese wife. Got a shock when I heard about his wedding, and Taiwanese culture!

They had their ceremony 3 times, twice in Taiwan and 1 here. All the figures mentioned are in Singapore dollar.

They spent $1200 (gasp!) a table over at the Hyatt Hotel there, and that's quite standard price for their banquet. As for the ang paos, average few hundreds. His boss gave him a $1500 ang pao! And they actually open their ang paos in front of their guest and record down the amount in a book! I was speechless.
