Eliss called me just now! I'm so happy to hear her voice. So difficult to get her nowadays. I missed her so much!

She is not on msn, didn't update her blog, never receive her emails, didn't pick up her mobile.

Thank God she bought a international calling card. Her internet should be up by this week. Fingers crossed.

She is busy fixing up the corporate apartments for other freshmen. Ask Mr Lim to employ me leh!

She read my blog at least. So she knows that I had chicken rice for Valentine's Day.

Speaking of internet connection, Nokia is coming up with this really cool mobile phone.

The new Nokia 6136 will offer smooth and seamless transitions between GSM and WLAN network. What this means to a me is that once out of the range of a WLAN, a UMA handset will automatically switch to the cellular network without interrupting a voice call or data transfer session. I can serve wirelessly without a big PDA phone.

The only catch? The need to have a UMA-enabled phone and UMA network equipment, naturally.

And the phone looks decent too. I like clam shells without the antennas. So I'll wait for its release somewhere in Q2 06. Estimated to cost around €275 ($550).

I did some research on the PARF rebate of my Honda Civic. If I sell just before it's 5th birthday (2/8/06), I will break even, meaning I don't have to top up any money to "scrap" the car. The money I get back will be sufficient to clear the debt! Thank God for that!

As for the flat, I can sub-let the whole house with HDB approval. Initially, I thought cannot because we got the $40k grant from them. But if we can prove that the 2 of us will be based overseas, they can make an exception.

2 of my biggest burdens lifted.

I went to do some research at DIMA, very difficult to get a working visa without sponsorship. So just tell me that Australian side accepted me! I'm ready to go!

I look forward to see Eliss tomorrow night. Maybe the whole CG can say hi to her! Please let the internet be up!
