After reading many rave reviews of the revered VW Golf GTI, we decided to spend the Sunday morning at the showroom, just across Eliss's office.
We were greeted by a smiley sales consultant, Megan as we were browsing around. It was a great day for a test drive.
After making ourselves comfortable with the Polo GTI and the Polo, we walked into the air conditioned area.
We finally made contact with the red beauty.
The interior was spacious, the light brown leather added a touch of luxury to the interior. The chromed sports pedals beneath my legs seemed to be beckoning me to floor it, as I admired the steering wheel with customisable height.
The bucket seat was spacious, unlike those Recaros that made you feel like one of the sardines in the can. This one was so comfortable.
We got the keys from Megan and took this baby for a spin. I felt so excited as I tapped on the accelerator lightly, I could already feel its power beneath the bonnet as the engine rumbled gently.
I could sense other drive stealing some glances of admiration and at us as we cruised down the highway.
We turned into a smaller road to test out the beast within this beauty. I floored the pedal, and the car shot from stationary to 100 km/hr is less than 7 seconds. We were pushed back to our seats and we were like gasping for air as if we went downhill on a roller-coaster.
It was simply amazing what a 200hp turbo charged engine can do fully engaged. It was totally exhilarating.
It would be too selfish to enjoy this alone, so I got Eliss on the wheel too. You should have seen the expression on her face as 280Nm of torque grunted in at 1800rpm. The bullet just sprinted as the needle on the tachometer climbed swiftly, with the Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) relieving the need to change gears manually.
We were both convinced then that this is THE CAR for us. No lar, we didn't place an order for it, yet. Haha.
Still have to keep both feet on the ground, although driving one is such a dream. It will come true one day.
After church, I played some soccer there. Managed to score a couple of goals, but I was breathless after that. I'm so unfit!

Went for a Vietnamese dinner with Eliss's colleagues again. This was the second time for the week. I had this laksa which uncandidly tasted like mee soto back home. It was nice to have a spicy dish on a cold winter night.
Eliss's boss's brother was also invited to the dinner, so everyone was prim and proper. The Chairman is coming soon also, and this will also spell more late nights for Eliss in this coming weeks.
