I'm working at Eastlakes, which is located 8km south east of the Sydney CBD and is part of the City of Botany Bay.
This place is like a lau lang geh (senior) retirement village.
The old people who come shop at Woolworths are sometimes quite interesting. There were many occasions I was not sure to laugh or to cry.
I called some of them geh hi-class (trying to act rich). They would come to the deli counter and ordered some of the more expensive ham.
"Can I have a slice of the boneless leg ham and a piece of the shaved Jarlsberg cheese, please", one asked.
"Ma'am, it would be quite hard o weigh a piece of shaved cheese, as it's really thin. Would you like a handful, maybe?" I asked.
"Oh, that's too much. It's just for my lunch," she replied.
I was like, you don't go shopping at a deli and ask for single pieces! You buy a reasonable amount to keep in the fridge for a few days.
The total bill was less than $1.50, and I had to wrapped 2 parcels for her purchase.

Having recently bought a grill pan at Ikea, I decided to make myself some grilled chicken thigh for lunch.
The skin was crispy as most of its fat melted into the grooves, making this a healthy protein diet.

Eliss had a craving for pi-pi (clams) in XO sauce yesterday and wanted to buy a take away from Kingsford. But it costs $35!
I stopped her of course!
I had a short day at work today and saw the local fishmonger selling vongole. Mai tu liao (no time to waste)!
Dinner was ttir fried vongole in XO sauce with fried tang hoon (rice vermicelli), specially made for her.
