We decided to have a road trip to Palm Beach, one of Sydney's most expensive in terms of real estate.
The rich and famous can be found holidaying at Palm Beach around Christmas and New year. It is also notable as the location for the shooting of the well known Australian television soap opera, Home and Away. The area is also popular for shooting in music videos and many international artists (including Kelly Rowland) have filmed there.
Palm Beach is also a favourite with Australian television and sports personalities. Lleyton Hewitt and his wife Bec Cartwright recently purchased an A$4.9 million residence in Palm beach where they now reside with their daughter Mia.

The city was like a dead town on this drizzling morning. We had a hard time to find a place to satisfy our hungry stomach.
We finally settled at Marigold for yum cha. We were their first customers of the day. It looked at though we booked the whole place.

We passed by Mosman along the way, the playground for the ultra rich. Check out those beautiful yachts!

We saw Santa waiting for his ferry at Newport Wharf. Rudolf and gang must be clearing their annual leave today.

The water was so cold that out feet went numb.

There were so many ducks at Palm Beach Wharf. No wonder they had a duck crossing sign on the roads to warn drivers.

The lifeguards here dressed very differently from the ones from Baywatch. Sigh.

There were piles and piles of seaweed washed ashore. I wonder if Japanese come here to take some home to cook soup.

The rock formation had little craters. Looked like we had landed on the moon.

I liked the feeling of being barefooted. Felt so close to nature, literally.

After an hour long drive, we stopped at Manly for lunch. Every shops along the way was closed. Good thing we managed to find food here because this was a touristy place.

Danish ice cream on a hot Christmas? Count me in!

Yummy...

Merry Christmas! Wish you were here.

We went over to Jame's place in the evening for a Christmas dinner. We made Peri Peri Chicken, Baked potatoes and dessert to chip in.
We were introduced to Ann for the first time, a Thai toy designer friend of his.

He stayed in the city, so he is greeted by this view every sunset. So envious!

Eliss's piece de resistance, fu chook tong soi (soy beancurd skin, ginko nuts and barley drink). Divine!
We were all so full and tired after this long day.
Will never forget this special Christmas!
