As Eliss's big boss is in town, it's that time of the year that she have to work late for the whole week.

I have to come out with some lazy meals to survive this week, something easy to cook and nothing much to wash up.

I had oven roasted chicken wings with chili octopus. The wings were lightly marinated with some Thai seasoning paste and the octopus was tossed with chili paste and rice wine to boost the flavour, and to prevent it from drying up in the oven.

They were then thrown into the oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees c.

The result was a beautiful, and it came with a dishful of liquid, wonderfully flavoured with chicken and seafood.

I'm sure you have heard of bird flu, mad cow disease and other weird animal virus.

Although Australian animals got away from the two, the horses got infected with equine influenza (horse flu).

What the heck is that?

It is a major virus disease that causes flu like symptoms in horses and is from the group of viruses that causes flu in humans.

Infected horses will develop a fever and dry hacking cough. Horses become ill and are reluctant to eat or drink for several days but will usually recover in 2 to 3 weeks.

I never see a horse with runny nose or coughing before. It will be a funny sight!

I may sound cruel, but at least with the races canceled, punters get to keep their money in the wallet for lunch.

How about donating the horse money to some charities, instead of paying to re turf the grass on the race course?

Sony has developed an environmentally-friendly prototype battery that runs on sugars and that can generate enough electricity to power a music player and a pair of speakers.

That meas it can't work with Coke Zero then...

The bio battery's casing is made of a vegetable-based plastic. I wonder if it's edible too.

It measures 3.9cm (1.5 inch) along each edge and works by pouring sugar solution into the unit, where enzymes break it down to generate electricity.

How sweet is that? Just that the battery may attract a lot of ants.
