Spent the morning at Double Bay, shopping for some stuff that Eliss need for her office.

It's great to see the sun again, after many days of raining.

It was my first time there, and I say its quite pretty. Small boutiques peppered around main street, and with many well heeled arriving in their European sedans to take away gourmet coffee from the sidewalk cafes.

Got to know a new friend today from Qing Dao (青岛), where they are famous for their Tsing Tao beer.

Just as I thought they are just a small island off Mainland China, they were a German colony in 1897. And their city centre is a combination of German and Chinese architecture, combined with modern high-rises and freeways, along a coastline of beaches, rocky headlands, and picturesque cypress trees.

I must really visit China one day.

Dinner tonight was the lovely mussels bought at Paddy's the other day.

I spent half an hour scrubbing and debearding one kilo of them before they are ready to be cooked.

They are steamed with white wine, topped with chili and finished with a little coconut milk.

Accompanied with some 2006 Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, the meal was delightful.
