Felt like eating western today. So I went to pick up some baby octopus, salad greens, balsamic vinegar and potatoes as sides for my porter house steak.

I grilled the steak and the octopus (marinated with pesto) till they are just barely cooked.

And with the remaining liquid in the pan, I added some beef stock and milk to thicken it up for gravy.

For the salad dressing, it was a simple balsamic vinaigrette to bring out the natural freshness of the vegetables.

For additional sides, I made a bowl of mash potatoes with cracked pepper to share.

Eliss really liked it, and that makes all the effort all worth while.
