I had my very first company barbie event in the afternoon at the warehouse.

Thanks, John for the cooking!

Delicious burger patties sizzling on the grill. And also the usual fanfare of chopped onions and heaps of sausages to go around.

Derrick, my Sales Manager (left) and the Service Manager slowing things down with ice cold stubbies in their hands.

It was great to catch up with some of the operation staff I don't see everyday. And this will be a monthly event.

How good is that?

We had one of the best dinner this year at Rengaya, down at North Sydney.

Parking was easy at this time of the day, so you can drive there.

The humble salad was given a new lease of life, with the help of cubed salmon sashimi and ebiko (prawn roe). The soy flavoured dressing was a delight as the accompaniment.

The Negio-shio ox tongue, topped with chopped shallot, grated garlic and ginger was excellent too.

The taste reminds me of the dip Crystal Jade serves with their boiled chicken.

You've heard of F-1 cars, but how about F-1 Black Wagyu?

They are a special breed which are grain-fed for over 400 days with all the good stuff.

The Wagyu Spencer Roll was so well marbled, it's amazing.

Have a closer look at this piece de resistance.

I reckon the beef was pretty high on the marble scoring. Where do you think it stands?

And the crackling sound the the fats melting made Eliss squeal with delight.

The meat was really really tender and buttery. It could literally melt in your mouth.

We decide to have some dessert at the 24hr Maisy's Cafe at Neutral Bay.

We heard that their food wasn't something to rave about, but their sticky date pudding was totally wicked.

Just enough sweetness on the pudding, and the slightly acidic sauce poured over it was a great complement. Did I mention about the vanilla ice cream by the side?

A nice cup of latte.

A slow read on some trashy magazines.

Aren't Fridays just the best?
