It's bad news for home owners and for first time buyers who wants to enter into the property market.
The latest rise of 25 basis points takes official rates to 6.75 % and means variable interest rates will soon rise to 8.57%, an 11-year high.
Looks like we have to stick to renting as this stage, and to be prepared for another rental hike in a few months time from the landlord. Sigh.
