After a very romantic Valentine's Day trip to New Zealand last year, I thought it would be nice to visit Brisbane where we went to uni together.

This trip was planned way ahead, so we could get on one of the earlier flights of the day.

As usual, we woke up a little late and had a mad dash to the domestic airport.

We reached there about 25mins before take off. Good thing we were still allowed to board the plane.

The reception desks of Virgin Blue was nicely decorated with heart shaped balloons.

We were quickly checked in by the slightly effeminate CSO, who also made a terrible boo boo.

While we were running towards the lounge, Eliss made a quick check on the boarding pass and realised that the names were not ours!

Shucks! Why this at this time? What if our luggage end up in another place of something. We rushed back and got everything sorted out.

Touch down! It felt so good to be back, the sense of nostalgia was overwhelming.

Where to start?

Tired and hungry, we took our rented Subaru Forester to Fortitude Valley for some yum cha at King of Kings.

Looks kinda dodgy with the neon lights, ya?

This place is supposedly one the best place for tim sum.

Food was good portion huge. Pretty happy with the lot on the table.

Yuen's, our favourite stockist in the city for all things Asian. It's still around!

Brisbane has become a fine city too.

Queen Street Mall has changed a lot since the last time we came here in 03.

A lot more vibrant now and peppered with big designer labels, but still comfortable with lesser people on the streets compared to Sydney.

We checked into our hotel at South Bank for a quick nap before going for dinner.

Dinner was at Summit Restaurant on the peak on Mt Coot-tha, which offers paranomic views of the city.

It was a 6 course set dinner offering quite a creative range of delicacy.

Eliss enjoying her fillet of Heresford beef.

I like the chocolate heart dessert. Very romantic looking.

Our favourite shot of the evening.

We had to visit Milton that night. This was the place that we usually hang out as it was pretty close to where we live, and the atmosphere is like a little Paris.

The iconic cafe where people go to see and be seen. Except us, we just go there for a drink.

Afraid that we couldn't sleep later, we just had some hot chocolate and enjoyed all the fond memories that came back with every sip.
