Blessed with beautiful weather today, the South Bank Parklands offers a great view of the CBD.
This place will be so busy on the weekends, especially when the bazaar is up.

I reckon Sydney should have a man made beach like this near the city.
The white sand, palm trees, rocky creeks and subtropical trees really makes this place so inviting.

Have a closer look at my Nooka watch. Can you tell what time is it?
I'm so looking forward for strangers to ask me for the time so I can show it to them, making them more lost.
Hehe.

Eliss bought me a sumptuous and satisfying Aussie big breakfast. The crispy bacon was divine.

I knew I left some part of me in this Sunshine State. I've got a road named after me!

My alma mater! The place that gave me a second chance in life to succeed academically.
I was a really bad student during high school, so to be able to get a degree was a miracle to me.
Well, like they say it's not how to start but how you end.

I'm so happy to be back!

Eliss expressed her joy in a more subtle way.

How can you come to UQ and not take a photo of the famous sandstone structure?

The library area, one of my favourite spots not because I read a lot, but it was where I hooked up my laptop to have internet access.
I remembered ICQ was the the thing we use to chat during those days. The proxy blocked us out because they didn't want us to hog the terminal for ages.
The IT guys there was pretty helpful though, and helped us crack into the network anyway.
Hush hush. Don't tell anyone about this.

We went shopping like crazy and bought so many UQ merchandise. We got car decals, tshirts, polos, hoodies, etc.
Watch out kids, come winter we will not lose out in your sea of UNSW and USYD sweatshirts.

I love the fact that UQ is just by the Brisbane River, so it was really convenient to just catch the City Cat ferry to town.
Way cooler than your usual bus or train ride.

This is arguably one of the best Fish & Chips shop in Brisbane in my opinion.

Fresh fish light battered and cooked to perfection. The chips were heavenly with the dried herbs sprinkled on them.

XXXX beer, the best accompaniment on this hot summer day.
I remembered this shop first open when we lived at St Lucia, that means it had been around for more than 5 years now.

We miss this mall so much, as it was the closest and biggest shopping centre from where we lived.
It was reputedly the largest shopping mall in the Southern Hemisphere when completed in 1970! Not bad at all.
Whenever we go there, we would have KFC at the foodcourt (student budget) and go home with a truckload of groceries from Woolies.
Except this time :)
We headed to Caxton for some steak after the retail therapy, only to meet with massive traffic jam as there was a rugby match at the Gabba.
After circling for a while, we gave up and went to West End instead.

We stumbled upon this Mexican place while strolling. Most of other restaurants were pretty vacant, except for this one.
The universal rule should apply: Diners are not stupid.

For starters, the Colombian waitress suggested Quezadilla de Chorizo. The Spanish sausages and cheese wrapped in grilled tortilla was so good. The flavours of the salsa fresca topping complemented perfectly.

For mains, I ordered their specialty Mole Poblano because I was really curious of the brown sauce (mole) that was poured over the grilled chicken as it was made with dried chillies, spices and chocolate!
In Mexico, they even have other colours like black, red, yellow, colorado, green, almendrado, pipián.
Cool!

The flavours took me a little to get accustomed to. I mean, savoury chocolate on meat is not something we eat everyday.
After a few bites, you really start enjoying it and no wonder it's a national dish of Mexico.

Eliss ordered Tinga Poblana, which was basically chunks of beef, chicken and chorizo mixed with tomatoes and onion. The green stuff is guacamole.

This dish was much easier to accept and equally good.

For dessert, we hung out at The Three Monkeys, just like what we do after dinner during uni days.

The place hadn't change much, still as quirky and unique as it is famous for.

We ordered some really sweet and low caffeine items as night cap.

What a tiring day, time to hit the sack.
