Don't know why but we seemed to be in the mood for Japanese stuff these few days.

I read somewhere that Northbridge is where the Japanese congregate, and that's where we went for lunch today.

We had lunch at this little place in Northfield Plaza named Sushi Joy. The deco is simple and non pretentious.

It one of those places that let the food speak for itself.

I ordered the beef udon, which was fantastic. Much better than yesterday's ramen for sure.

The beef is beautifully marinated and lightly stir fried before putting onto the noodles.

Eliss ordered the eel bento set and I pinched some of her prawn tempura, which was slightly sweet from the sauce that was poured on it.

We chilled out at a place by the waters after lunch. It's such a beautiful place.

How nice it would be to have a house near the waters, but $14k from the First Home Owner Grant is not going to help much to reduce the cost of multi million dollar price tag.

I've never posed by my car before, and I'm doing a Toyota although it's a Nissan at the back.

Who cares? I'm a happy man.

We went grocery shopping later and bought so much stuff for our Spanish dinner.

Eliss did a tapas of carbonosi, olives and crackers with dip.

I made seafood paella for the first time. It wasn't as difficult as I expected.

If you like to try cooking it yourself, try the recipe from the Food Safari program on SBS.

My version is modified slightly as I just used the marinara mix from the deli and turmeric powder to give it the amber colour. Saffron is way too expensive.

Enjoy!
