As a Valentine treat, Eliss brought me to watch Top Gear Live show.

She knows that I'm a huge fan of this franchise. I've tuned in to watch the show weekly on SBS and buy the monthly magazine religiously.

The show was held at the Acer Arena, hosted by Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond of the original BBC tv hit.

We got a good seat at the top and could see everything clearly. Eliss was so worried before hand and wanted to get me a set of binos.

The action-packed 75 minute presentation was filled with death defying racing stunts, pyrotechnic and cold British humour.

They raced around on vehicles no larger than a suitcase.

Played bowling with a human ball, made from man + shopping cart. The ball was then launched by a Mustang driven at fast speed.

One of the most exciting event was the car soccer. I initially thought it was going to be boring, with cars coming back and forth knocking big balls into goal posts.

I was so wrong. The cars sped around fiercely, power slide, barely missing each each. They played offensively and defensively, just as in a real game.

It was Australia vs England, and with their sporting rivalry dated ages ago, the atmosphere was intense and the visitors went back defeated 5-3.

There was a segment where we had to put on 3D glasses to experience a helicopter chase. The Stig finally came out and was drifting in a Lotus Exige around the stage, trying to "avoid the attack".

The Apache was shooting missiles "out of the screen" and everyone in the audience was trying to avoid them. It was hilarious!

That's The Stig, the anonymous racing driver.

The origin of his name was actually derived from Jeremy Clarkson's days at Repton School, where new students were always called "Stig".

There are many rumours about The Stig. Some say that the outline of his left nipple is exactly the same shape as the Nürburgring. And if you give him a really important job, he'll skive off and play croquet.

The cars featured at the Motoring Showcase and Prestige & Performance Gallery made me feel ashamed of my beloved Skyline.

Audi R8.

Aston Martin DB9.

Ferrari F430.

I'm sure Eliss would love to have a car plate like these on any one of these babies.

After watching all the supercars on display, Eliss went out and queue under the hot sun to buy me the tshirt and keyring, which I've been wanting to have for a while.

Thank you dear for arranging such a beautiful outing. I feel very loved and I promise you a great time when I bring you out next weekend.

If you want to watch the live recording of the tv show in the UK, there is a 3 years waiting list at the moment.

I've send an email to request for tickets and we'll see what happened.
