I've been hearing about exorbitant rent hike from so many people recently. 2 friends living at Maroubra had to move because their landlord wanted to charge additonal $120 a week. A colleague is deliberating to move nearer to office as they have to pay $80 more a week for their unit at Cabarita.
It's probably a good time to keep a lookout to get your own property as prices have declined by the sharpest rate in more than 3 years, inflicting further pain on home owners faced with 12-year high interest rates.
Perth suffered the biggest drop in house prices, falling 2.4% in the June quarter, and are now dropping at an annual rate of 0.9%.
