Doyles is probably the most famous fish & chips place at Watsons Bay. The queue is never ending, so that explains how they remain strong here since 1885 .

They have another outlet by the beach. The last time I came here was to do a wedding shoot for someone about 2 years ago. Time flies.

We were very fortunate to find a seat in the bistro with the kind of crowd today. Finding a parking lot took us more than 15mins.

I like the view from where we are seating. Nothing beats having seafood by the sea, I rekon. That's why we can take the effort to drive to some ulu (deserted) place with pot holes all over the ground to have dinner at some kelong restaurant in Malaysia.
The rich Aussies here sure knows how to enjoy life with their boats.

I ordered the standard fish & chips. Eliss loved the freshness of the fish, and the batter was just nice, not too thick like some places. The tartar sauce that came with it had a hint of wasabi, and the plum sauce was quite a unique accompaniment to fish.

Eliss wanted some greens, so we shared a bowl of prawn and avocado salad as sides. I love the thousand island dressing here, which was smooth and not chunky with gherkins. The smoked salmon was lighter than usual and not very smoky in flavour, which is a refreshing change.

We strolled hand in hand after the big lunch, with cool sea breeze blowing against our faces. Thank God the weather was not 29°C as forecast.
You can see the Sydney Harbour Bridge from here. I'm sure this place will be packed on New Year's Eve.

There was a little boy running on the sand butt naked chasing seagulls.

We walked through Watsons Bay Baths and saw many jellyfish. We were a bit worried because there were many kids in the water.

After a steep climb, we reached this place which we didn't even know existed till today.

The view was pretty amazing. Bay on one side, the Tasman Sea on the other.

On the way to Bondi Junction, we passed by Rose Bay Park.

Just enjoying the scenery on my kick scooter.

I noticed that there were many seaplanes that landed in the short time that we stayed here.
The red tailplane confirmed that it belongs to Sydney Seaplanes. If you are in a mood to indulge, the rates start at $160 person for a 15mins flight.
With Christmas officially behind us, that means that we only have a few more days before 2009.
For those friends that have been sharing with me about your desire to venture out to another country to work, how about doing it next year? Do you know that many countries offer working holiday visas for those between 18-30? Click here to find out more.
For the rest who feels that Singapore is the place to be, how about starting a small business next year as a sideline?
My graphic designer friend, Yen has opened 2 stalls in Chinatown (Trengganu Street and Sago Street, in front of the new Chinatown Market) selling CNY goodies like Chinese sausages, waxed duck, liver, pork/chicken floss and etc. So if you can, drop by her stalls and stock up for the Year of the Ox!
